Electrical Troubleshooting & Repairs in Toronto & the GTA

We find the fault fast โ€” and fix it right the first time.

Tell us what needs power โ€” or repair. Breakers that trip for no clear reason, outlets that went dead overnight, lights that flicker when the microwave runs, a burning smell near a switch: these are symptoms, and guessing at them is how small problems become expensive ones.

We diagnose systematically โ€” testing circuits, measuring loads, and tracing faults to the source instead of swapping parts and hoping. Then we repair to code: faulty breakers, damaged wiring, worn receptacles, bad connections, overloaded circuits, and panels that have simply aged out.

You get a plain-English explanation of what failed, why it failed, and what the fix costs before we touch a wire. Most residential troubleshooting visits end with the problem found and fixed the same day.

What’s included

Our process

  1. Describe the symptom. Tell us what is happening โ€” when it started, what triggers it, and what you have noticed.
  2. Systematic testing. We test circuits and measure loads to find the actual fault, not just the symptom.
  3. Clear quote. You approve the repair and the price before any work begins.
  4. Fix and verify. We repair to code, re-test the circuit under load, and confirm the problem is gone.

Why a licensed contractor matters. In Ontario, electrical work must be done by a licensed electrical contractor with an ESA permit where required. Trusted Electric Group is licensed under ECRA/ESA #7018920 โ€” every installation is completed to the Ontario Electrical Safety Code, and we arrange the ESA notification for you.
Common questions

Electrical Troubleshooting & Repairs: FAQ

My breaker keeps tripping โ€” is it dangerous?

A breaker that trips occasionally may just be overloaded; one that trips repeatedly, feels hot, or smells of burning needs prompt attention. If you notice heat, discolouration, or a burning smell, switch the circuit off and call us.

Can you fix aluminum wiring?

Yes. We repair and remediate aluminum wiring connections using approved methods and devices rated for aluminum.

Do you charge to diagnose the problem?

You always approve the cost before work begins. Diagnostic visits are quoted upfront, and the fee is applied toward the repair when you proceed with us.

How fast can you come out?

We serve Toronto and the GTA daily from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Call or text and we will find the earliest slot.
